Why does God send people to Hell?

We often demand more from God than we would consider fair ourselves. Maybe the reason is that we don’t look at sin from God’s point of view.

Imagine you were a district judge and one day someone found where you lived and snuck in late at night. After tying your hands and feet, the man walks into the room of your only child, the son that you adore more than anything. The intruder than proceeds to pull your son out of bed and punch him repeatedly in the face. You are unable to do anything as you hear the screams and cries of this horrible night. Not satisfied with just the blood flowing from your son’s face the man begins to pull out his hair while yelling curses and laughing at the cries. Tied to a bedpost your son is whipped repeatedly across his back, blood and flesh splatter across the floor. The torture lasts for hours until bloody and broken your son is stabbed through the hands and feet and hung on a wall to be left for dead. During the next agonizing hours, you can hear the man yelling curses at your son while he slowly bleeds to death. Finally, after hours the horrendous criminal stabs your son in the side and with blood flowing everywhere ends this nightmare. You are left alone to deal with the aftermath.

Some time later while resuming your duties as a judge, a man approaches your bench charged with a petty offence. While looking into his eyes you instantly recognize him as the man from that horrific night. What do you do? Do you give this murder another change to do good or do you call him out for his crime against your son? The blood of your son demands justice to be handed down. How could a father do anything else? Not only does that man deserve to be punished but also you as a judge would not be doing your job if justice did not prevail.

Why do we demand anything else from God?

When we commit even one sin: tell a lie, steal, or think an evil thought we condemn Christ to die. The penalty for sin had to be paid and it was paid that horrible day on cavalry’s cross. One sin is a vote for Jesus to die. Because of us, Jesus was taken in the night. Hit repeatedly in the face until the blood flowed down His face. His beard was pulled out leaving only patches of skin. The mocking and the laughter was the only thing that drowned out the sound of the whip ripping strips of flesh from His back. Nailed to a cross with spikes through His hands and feet Jesus was tortured hour after hour until death finally came. With a spear pieced through His side our bloodlust was satisfied and the crowd walked away.

One day we you will stand before God the holy judge. He will see your sin and know what you have done to His only begotten Son. What do you think the sentence should be?

BUT...God has provided a means of escape from this judgment.
Please write us to find out how.
